It is with great pleasure that I share with you the RVRANZ’s Best Practice Guidelines for Retirement Villages, for you to download;

This booklet sets out the RVRANZ’s recommended guidelines for achieving fairness and best practices for Retirement Village living. The ‘Framework for fairness’ has been developed in consultation with the RVRANZ Executive, Village Primary Contacts and Resident Chairperson’s from throughout New Zealand.

Please note: It is not intended as legal advice. It is to be used as reference material to assist members and residents:

1. if they have meetings with their operator, any government agencies or the RVA,
2. to answer questions from the media,
3. to assess to what degree their own operator or other operators meet or exceed the guidelines,
4. and ensure uniformity of practice across villages leading towards enhanced transparency throughout the industry.

Media, Government and general public now have access to this document. This will remain a living document which may be added to as and when necessary. We hope it covers the points that you would like to see changed. If you have any comments, please feel free to let us know.
